TransLink’s regional transportation strategy, Transportation 2050 (T2050), was showcased with a prominent interactive exhibit at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) from August 17 to September 2, 2019. Attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, the PNE provided a prime opportunity to raise public awareness for Transportation 2050. The transportation-focused exhibit featured a world-class animated model of Greater Vancouver in 2050, as well as an immersive virtual reality experience that allowed visitors to stroll through the transit systems of the future. The exhibit also served institutional purposes beyond T2050, including promoting rapid bus routes, TransLink’s new double-decker bus, the TRAMS museum bus, the TransLink store, the human resources booth, and demonstrations of e-scooters, e-bikes, electric vehicles, and more.
